Denos Wonder Wheel , Coney Island , NY

As time goes on and new things pop up more and more in New York ,  It seems we see less and less of old New York. so it's nice to find things that still retain the same charm that they had years ago. Nothing says old New York like Coney Island and particularly Deno's Wonder Wheel amusement park.
The Wonder Wheel was built in 1920 and stands tall at 150 feet. What makes the Wonder Wheel different from other ferris wheels is the swinging cars. The only other ride like it is a replica at Disney, California.
The park is also filled with other fun rides like bumper cars and Spook-O-Rama , a retro dark ride.
There is also a large kiddy amusement center with lots of rides for the little ones as well as old time coin operated machines that yo can arm wrestle with or get your fortune read by an old lady or a gorilla.
Deno's Wonder Wheel will be opening March 24th and rides on the wheel will be free all day. For more inn

Fort Tilden

Fort Tilden , located on The Rockaway Peninsula is a natural preserve of beach dunes and maritime forest. It is also the site of abandoned World War II gun batteries. They are covered with graffiti and they seem to rise up out of no where . You can climb to top of one of the batteries, where you can get a panoramic view of the surrounding area.
